People first isn’t a soft strategy. It’s your most profitable one.
Most business owners think caring about their people means sacrificing profit. It doesn’t. It means the opposite.
When the owner is in the right role they show up as the best version of themselves. They make better decisions. They lead with more energy. Their team feels it. They perform better. The company grows faster.
When key leaders are in roles that fit them they stop leaving. They stop just getting through the day. They start bringing everything they have.
You don’t have to choose between caring about your people and growing your business. Those two things are the same thing when done right.
That’s the belief Built By Design is built on. And it’s what makes it different from every other business framework out there.
What is Built By Design?
Built By Design is a 90-day People First engagement. It starts with you. The owner. And builds outward from there.
Most business frameworks start with systems and processes and hand them to you to implement. Built By Design starts with people. Specifically with you. Because when the owner is in the right role everything else becomes easier to build.
Part 1. The Owner. Month 1
Part 2. The Team. Month 2
Part 3. The Gap and the Map. Month 3
Each part builds on the last. By the end you have a redesigned role, a stronger team, and a clear map for where the company goes next. All built around your natural wiring and the people you want by your side.
This is not a framework handed to you and left for you to figure out. It is built around you. Your wiring. Your people. Your company.
It starts with The Design Day.
Every Built By Design engagement begins with a full day in person. Brandon comes to you. This is where everything starts.
The Design Day has one purpose. To establish your honest baseline and begin designing the role you were actually built to play.
Most coaching engagements start with a Zoom call. Built By Design starts with Brandon in your office. Because the most important work we do together requires real conversation. Not a screen.
The Design Day is included in your investment. No extra charge for travel.
What happens during The Design Day?
• We map everything currently on your plate.
• We identify what gives you energy and what drains you.
• We begin building the picture of your right role.
• We establish the honest baseline everything else gets built on.
Most owners leave The Design Day feeling something they haven’t felt in a long time. Clarity. Not because everything is solved. Because for the first time they can see exactly what the problem is and exactly what the path forward looks like.
What the 90 days looks like.
Month 1. The Owner
Everything starts with you. Not your team. Not your systems. Not your marketing. You.
In the first 30 days we get completely clear on how you’re wired. What work gives you energy. What work drains you. What you should be doing every day and what you should stop doing entirely.
Then we build your Owner’s Blueprint. A real role description built around your natural wiring and the 80/20 standard. 80 percent of your time on work that gives you energy. 20 percent on the necessary stuff you can handle but don’t love.
Then we build your Drop List. The specific responsibilities coming off your plate with real target dates for handoff.
The outcome you feel at the end of Month 1. Relief and clarity. You can finally see exactly what has been wrong and exactly what your new role looks like.
Month 1 Deliverables:
• The honest Baseline Conversation
• The Role Clarity Map
• The Owner’s Blueprint
• The Drop List
• The Suck Sandwich. A personal energy management tool for handling the 20%.
Month 2. The Team
Once your role is clear we turn to the people you want beside you. The two key leaders you trust most. The ones you want shoulder to shoulder with you for the long haul.
We have the same honest conversation with each of them that we had with you. What are they actually doing. What gives them energy. What drains them. Where will they thrive.
Then we build their Leader’s Blueprints. Same 80/20 standard. Built around where they will be most energized and effective for the company. Not built around what the company needs from them. Built around where they will thrive and deliver their best work.
Then we build the Handoff Plan. What moves off your plate to these leaders. Who takes what. By when.
The outcome you feel at the end of Month 2. Momentum. The weight is starting to lift. Things are moving off your plate. The right people are stepping into the right work.
Month 2 Deliverables:
• The Leader’s Blueprints. One for each key leader.
• The Handoff Plan.
• The Gap Map.
Month 3. The Gap and the Map
By Month 3 you and your key leaders are in or moving toward your right roles. Now we look at what’s left. What’s still uncovered. What the company still needs that nobody is currently owning.
We call this the Gap. And then we build the Map. A clear plan for how to fill it. Who gets hired. What gets outsourced. What gets restructured.
Then we build the operating structure that makes it all stick. How decisions get made. What comes to you and what doesn’t. How the team stays aligned without everything flowing through you.
The outcome you feel at the end of Month 3. Confidence. The company can move without you in the middle of everything. You’re leading it. Not carrying it.
Note. Occasionally filling a gap requires a hiring or outsourcing decision that extends slightly beyond 90 days. That’s normal. The system is still working. The foundation is solid.
Month 3 Deliverables:
• The Gap Map
• The Decision Map
• The Communication Rhythm
• The Accountability Map
• The Clarity Code
• The 90-Day Pulse

The investment.
$20,000. 90 days. Includes The Design Day in person.
I know that’s not a small number. But before you decide whether it’s too much ask yourself this.
What is it costing you in revenue right now to stay where you are?
What is it costing you in good people walking out the door?
What is it costing you in growth you’re leaving on the table?
Most owners in companies doing between 3 and 15 million in revenue are losing between 20 and 40 percent of their potential revenue because the owner and key leaders are in the wrong roles.
At 5 million in revenue that’s up to 2 million dollars a year.
At 10 million in revenue that’s up to 4 million dollars a year.
If the answer to those questions makes you uncomfortable that’s worth paying attention to.
Built By Design is a two phase system. Phase 1 is the 90 day People First engagement described on this page. What comes next depends on where you are and where you want to go. We will talk about that when the time is right.
The next step is simple.
Let’s have an honest conversation about your role and your company. No pitch. No pressure. Just clarity on where you are and whether Built By Design is the right fit for you right now.
If it is we will talk about next steps. If it isn’t I will tell you that too.
